Struggle for empowerment of PRIs to continue: JKPP | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 21: Jammu & Kashmir Panchayat Parishad (JKPP) has vowed to continue its struggle for empowerment of PRIs. "Panchayat Raj institutions need better empowerment and this is possible by fully adopting the 73rd & 74th amendments of the constitution of India in the J&K Panchayat Raj Act 1989", said Jugal Kishore Gupta, President JKPP while addressing a meeting of the office bearers. The district presidents shall continue to meet the authorities, Panchs & Sarpanchs and other people associated with PRIs and make them aware of these amendments and their necessity for effective and better Panchayati Raj system, he added. A team of office bearers have been constituted and asked to meet and apprise the authorities about the difficulties being faced by elected members of PRIs and to request them for earlier redressel of the same. The meeting was attended among others by Gopal Dass Sharma, senior Vice President, Swaran Singh Charak - Provincial Vice President, Gopal Singh Charak- Vice President (Provincial), Balkar Singh, Tej Ram Dogra - Corrdinator, Sanjay Mahajan, Rajiv Dutta - Secretary, Joginder Singh Gulleria, Mohd Maqbool, Deep Malla and Sonia Dutta. |
