Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 21: Though State Government had been making repeated calls to the Bollywood for once again buzzing the scenic spots of Jammu and Kashmir with film-making activities ironically the Bollywood is disheartened over the red-tapism prevalent within concerned authorities' vis-à-vis grant of permission for shooting.
Leave aside Bollywood, even the locals were finding it difficult to get their job done for shooting.
Latest in the series who felt the heat of red-tapism was production team of "Identity Card". This film is based on the ground realities of Jammu and Kashmir especially in the backdrop of 22 yr old turmoil. Two persons hailing from state who share key role in the movie also lament their woes. Ironically, the Government which calls Bollywood to revisit Kashmir didn't offer any privilege to the production team of "Identity Card". The team had to face the bureaucratic hurdles. They had planned to shoot some scenes in a Govt Colleges at Srinagar and the co-producer had sought the permission for shooting in the premises of SP College Srinagar. "The application in this regard was moved in the first week of June, one of member of harassed unit said.
Initially, the permission was straight away refused citing busy schedule as reason.
Later, the authorities explained that they have no prescribed norms for granting shooting permission in the college. It's been a month since shooting begun for the movie. But, till date authorities were not been able to decide over the permission to shoot few scenes in the college. Ultimately, the director decided to change the script so as to keep the things moving.
Tariq Khan the co-producer and lead actor of the movie hailing from Poonch and Rahat Kazmi the Director who are working over dream project but state government seems not interested in offering any privilege to them.
Tariq Khan said, "Chief Minister Omar Abdullah sincerely making calls to Bollywood but his efforts are not supplemented by the bureaucrats."
He added that situation was fast changing in the state. Khan opined if State Government was really eager to see Bollywood back in Valley with full swing then there was a dire need to prepare a list of privileges for them and also to cut bureaucratic hurdles.
