early times report
Jammu, Aug 21: A delegation of J&K Agricultural Technocrats Association led by its president Dr. Surinder Radhotra called on the BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas at its head office, Kachi Chawni to seek BJP's support to their just demand and also apprised him of the unconcern and neglect of the state government of their cause. They informed Manhas about the struggle that they have waged for their just cause and going back of the administration on its promise of meeting their demands for which their conducted fast unto death for 55 days during March-April, 2012. The State Chief Minister had intervened in the matter and appointed Mubarak Gul as his pointsman in the matter and had promised to make necessary amendments in the various government and cabinet orders to meet their just and reasonable demands and the association had called of their fast unto death after 55 days.
Dwelling on their demands Dr. Surinder Radhotra inform Manhas that the government had accepted their demands for reducing the tenure period of Rehbar-e-Zirat for their regularization, enhancing their stipend upto level of basic salary and effect regularization of these Agriculture Technocrats on the basis of yearly batch-wise. This regularization of yearly batch-wise is being demanded to ensure that the over-aged technocrats do not suffer non-selection and thereby remain idle for their life.
After hearing the delegates and their president, Shamsher Singh Manhas smpathizing with them assured that BJP would extend all the needed support to them as it had been doing so in the past. He said that it is very sad and shocking that the ReZ scheme meant for highly educated agricultural technocrats suffers from many inequities and deficiencies resulting in grave hardship and suffering for the technocrats.
The governments proposal to start the regularization of these technocrats in the year of Assembly elections of 2014 is at the face of it indicative of manipulative planning with election in view.
Manhas said that the absorption and regularization of these technocrats should be done on the basis of yearly batch-wise so that no room for political benefits remains.
