| GCW organizes plantation drive | | |
EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, Aug 21: National Social Services (NSS) of Government College for Women(GCW), Udhampur organized a plantation drive in the college premises here today. Chief Conservator of Forests, OP Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma apprised the students of different varieties of roses and also threw light on the benefits that plants accrue to human kind.
He also delivered lecture on "My Earth My Duty".
Principal of the College, Dr. Yudhvir Singh, NSS Programme Officer, Dr. Rich Paul Singh along with NSS volunteers planted various varieties of plants.
The Principal of the host college called upon the students to plant at least one plant in the college campus and contribute their bit in making the college environment healthier and pollution free.
He also disclosed that about 200 plants would be planted in the near future in the college campus. |
