NC, Hurriyat's criticism to Apex Court's directions to Amarnath Yatra draws flak | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu Aug 21: Various political and non political organizations have condemned the statements from NC leaders and separatist leaders criticizing the directions of Supreme Court to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) in regard to the maintenance of Amarnath Yatra track and more facilities to the Amarnath pilgrims. The activists of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena took out protest march in old city of Jammu under the leadership of State President Ashok Gupta and took out a procession at Parade Ground against Finance Minister and Hurriyat Confrence for politicizing the verdict of Supreme Court in case of construction of Track for Amarnath Yatries that leads to cave. While addressing the gathering President Shiv Sena Ashok Gupta condemned the criticism of court directions from a section of politicians, ministers, Hurriyat leaders who are trying to politicize the issue of Shri Amarnath Yatra especially when the matter is between the Supreme Court and the chairman of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board. "Supreme Court has rightly issued notice to State as well as Centre government and formulated a committee to suggest the measures to reduce the causalities during Shri amarnath Yatra, he said adding, "remarks of Abdul Rahim Rather and Hurriyat leaders are shameful, condemnable and have no logic Gupta appealed to all the political parties and individuals that they should show more sensitivity over the death of more than 117 yatries this year and added the remarks from senior NC leader reflects casual approach of the state govt which will not be tolerated. Meanwhile Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of its state president Tulsi Dass Langeh has condemned the statement of Abdul Rahim Rather that government has no plans to construct road or ropeway on Shri Amar Nath ji Track. Langeh While speaking on the occasion said that it is ironical that government on its own should have taken steps to develop the facilities enroute to Shri Amar Nath ji Shrine which is main source of state's economy instead of doing that it even remained as mute spectator on the causalities of more than 100 people. BSP leader said that government as well as Shrine Board without wasting time should focus its full attention towards the development of the Shrine including making of road and ropeway likewise adding of other facilities so as to minimize causalities along the track. Among others who spoke in this meeting included R L Chadgotra State Vice President, Rakesh Wazir State Gen Sec and Som Nath Ex MLA National Panthers students Union (NPSU) also had criticized the statement of Abdul Rahim and further criticized the state govt. for no plan to construct the road to Amarnath. In a press conference held at party head office, Jammu Th Vriender Singh (President JU NPSU), condemned the statement of Finance Minister A R Rather terming it as totally 'irresponsible.' NPSU also condemned the statements of Separatist leaders on the direction of court and warned the state govt. if J&K govt. will not follow the direction of supreme court. Meanwhile members of Baba Amaranth & Buda Amaranth Yatri Niyas held in Jammu its meeting today under the chairmanship of its President Surinder Mohan Aggarwal expressed their serious concern over the reactions of National Conference leaders namely MP GN Rattanpuri and Separatist leaders Moulvi Omar Farooq and Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani, who are not only challenging the authority of the Supreme Court, but at the same time are indulging in a competitive race of scoring points in opposing the suggestions of the Supreme Court, which has asked the high powered committee to recommend the ways and means to promote safe journey of pilgrims to the holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnath. The speakers also emphasized on the requirement of Gondola Ropeway/Cable Car from both sides of yatra tracks. The speakers on the occasion also said that the so called Civil Society of Kashmir (SCKG) is also reacting unnecessarily on the recommendations of Supreme Court, as it has passed a resolution recommending the implementation of Nitesh Sengupta Committee Report, which has also recommended the augmentation in the infrastructure for the facilitation of the pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Ji, keeping in consideration the growing number of pilgrims. The speakers also expressed their concern over the resent comments of coalition partners in the J&K Govt. Ministers, Abdul Rahim Rathar in which he has expressed that the J&K State Govt. doesn't have any plans of constructing or widening of the road up-to the cave shrine. They said that it is constitutional obligation of the State to create congenial condition for all the pilgrims including those who are not in the best of state of health. The meeting was attended by several representatives of associate member organisations of BABA Yatri Niyas. Prominent among those who were spoke included Pawan Kr Jain, Karan Singh Charak, Jagdish Dogra, Kuldip Wahi, Mahaveer Parsad, Varinder Jain, Surinder Khajuria, Dr V K Gupta, Rajesh Gupta, Ashwani Pardhan, Rajesh Kesari, Shyam Langar and Dinehawar Singh Jamwal. |
