Number plate sold for Rs 1.60 lakh in highest bid in J&K | | | early times report JAMMU, Aug 21: In a highest ever bid in Jammu and Kashmir, the state government today sold a number plate at a cost of Rs 1.60 lakh in the Samba district, a senior official said today. "The registration number JK21A-0001(number plate) of the vehicle was sold in the highest ever bid in Jammu and Kashmir at Rs 1.60 lakh in Samba district," Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), Kewal Krishan told reporters here. The number plate was purchased by businessman Bajan Pal Bhalla at a function in which number of people made bids for the vanity numbers, he said. The bid was started from Rs 20,000 and finally concluded at Rs 1.60 lakh, which was won by Bhalla, he said. Earlier, the registration number JK02AK-47 was sold in 2010 at a cost of Rs one lakh. |
