| Pooja death case solved; husband among 3 arrested, one absconding | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, Aug 21: Police have claimed to solve the mysterious death case of an eighteen year old married girl following the arrest of her husband and two others.
According to sources, the police managed to crack the death case after one year long investigations into the case.
The sources further said police arrested victim Pooja Devi's husband identified as Swaran Singh son of Karnail Singh, Karnail Singh son of Munshi Ram and Usha Devi wife of Karnail Singh, who have been remanded to police custody for seven days adding that another accused Reena Devi daughter of Karnail Singh is also booked but she is still absconding and hunt is on to nab her. The body of the victim was found lying in the fields near her house with burn injuries on her body a year back in the month of June in village Patti Barigarh under the jurisdiction of Police Station Majalta. Since the death of the victim had occurred under suspicious circumstances and cause of death of the deceased required to be ascertained, inquest proceedings under section 174 Cr PC was initiated by Majalta police and inquiry started and during the course of investigation it came to fore that woman committed suicide as she was facing continuous physical as well as mental torture and harassment from the first day of her marriage as her husband and in-laws were demanding dowry from her. |
