early times report
KATRA, Aug 22: Chopper service to the Vaishno Devi cave shrine remained suspended for the fifth consecutive day today while a pilgrim was injured due to landslides on the way to Bhawan situated in Trikuta Hills of mountainous Reasi district. "The chopper service, which was suspended on August 18, could not be resumed due to an inclement weather," police sources said, adding that rains are continuing in the region and pilgrims have been advised to be alert while performing the yatra.
They said one pilgrim, who was on way to the Bhawan, sustained injuries due to landslides and has been shifted to hospital for treatment.
Yatra is in progress but the new track has been closed following heavy rains to avoid any untoward incident as it is much prone to landslides, they added.
