| SRTC driver arrested for murder, son absconding | | | Jammu | Feb 6
Janipur police today arrested a SRTC Driver who murdered a person last night in the area while his son, another accused in the murder, was absconding. According to reports, last night a scooterist was killed by a SRTC driver after a scuffle, erupted over a trivial matter after the heated exchange of words. The deceased namely Vishwa Mitra, son of Jagan Nath of Janipur fell down after being slapped and received serious head injury. He was shifted to GMC where doctors declared him as brought dead. The accused fled from the spot whereas Police registered a case in this regard and investigated the matter. Thereafter several raids were carried out to arrest the accused and this morning a police party led by SHO Janipur, Surender Singh Baloria, under the direction of DSP Stazin Narboo, raided a spot and arrested the accused Basharat, son of Lal Deen of Housing Colony, Janipur on murder charges. Meanwhile the interrogation of the accused was on when reports last came in while his son Mohd Saleem, also involved in the murder, was still absconding.
