JAMMU, Aug 22: Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Mubarak Mandi clinched girls' under-19 badminton title in the ongoing inter-school competitions of Jammu district under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today. In the final, played today, GHSS Mubarak Mandi girls defeated MIER School 2-0. Earlier, in the semifinals, Mubarak Mandi outplayed SOS School 2-0 while MIER trounced JK Public School again 2-0.
HOCKEY: In girls' under-19 hockey event that took place at K K Hakhu Stadium, Presentation Convent School defeated SOS School Gole Gujral by a solitary goal.
TUG OF WAR: Meanwhile, in girls' under-19 Tug of War event, Guru Harkrishan Public School emerged winner after making it a 2-0 win against Oriental Academy in the final. Earlier, in the semifinals, played today, Guru Harkrishan Public School beat St. Peter's Karan Bagh 2-0 games. In the second semifinal, Oriental Academy beat HSS Gole Gujral 2-0.
