SRINAGAR, Aug 22: Brilliant unbeaten century from Omar Nabi today guided Star Cricket Club to an outright 10-wicket victory over Bijbehara Sports Club (BSC) on way to the next round of ongoing Parvez Qureshi Memorial Cricket Tournament at Kashmir University ground, here. Earlier, batting first, after wining the toss, BSC bowled out for 138 runs in 35.2 overs of the 40 overs game. In reply, Star Club attained the goal making 139 runs without loss in just 12.4 overs. Showkat was top scorer from BSC with 30 runs while Arman contributed unbeaten 18 runs to the total. From Star Club, Khalid and Younis were most successful bowlers with three wickets each. Later, sailing on super performance from openers, Omar Nabi and Jahangir, Star Club reached the required total rather easily making 139 runs in 12.4 overs with all 10 wickets intact. While Omar Nabi completed his century, Jahangir made unbeaten 34. Today's match was officiated by Rafiq Ahmed and Samir as umpires while Javed Ahmed was scorer. |
