Cyber war on India, what about the enemy within? | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 22: New Delhi has decided to share with Islamabad evidence on the direct involvement of inimical elements on its soil to whip up communal passions, destabilize India and cause displacement of population, especially of Indian citizens of North-East. Delhi has clinching evidence to prove that many doctored and provocative images were "uploaded on social networking sites" in Pakistan. The Ministry of Home Affairs has identified more than 270 sites and blogs which spread hate terror. It has blocked more than 150. The Union Home Ministry has come to the conclusion that "some 38 per cent of offensive content in circulation originated from Pakistan and was created by elements there". It needs to be noted that photos of victims of a cyclone in Myanmar and an earthquake in the Chinese-controlled Tibet were presented by inimical elements as "atrocities" perpetrated on Muslims by "Cheenis" (read a slang which is being used to describe people who are racially Mongoloids). The mischievous elements based in Pakistan and India did so to cause exodus of the Indian citizens of North-East, including students and professionals, from cosmopolitan cities like Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Delhi. New Delhi believes that Islamabad will appreciate the evidence to be presented by it and help it defeat and bring to book those who unleashed cyber war on India last weak to cause unrest. Union Home Secretary RK Singh has said the "bulk" of the inimical elements belonged to Pakistan. As for Pakistan, it has already dismissed as "baseless and unfounded" the Indian charge and said that none in Pakistan posted morphed images on the internet to foment communal troubles in India. Of course, Islamabad has asked New Delhi to provide evidence in this regard, but the former will never acknowledge the truth. It has rejected the evidence on its involvement in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks as "no more than pieces of literature" and it will also reject the evidence on the involvement of Pakistani elements in the hate terror campaign launched through social media networking sites. There should be no doubt about it. New Delhi will have to work hard to force Islamabad to behave and refrain from hatching conspiracies against India. This is one aspect of the problem. The other aspect of the problem is far more serious and alarming. The case in point is the involvement of Indians in this cyber war. There were, and are, enemies within who forwarded the provocative material or re-posted it on their own websites, facebook and blogs to supplement the efforts of the Pakistan-based Indian enemies. They need to be identified, booked and brought to justice as early as possible. Their identification at the earliest is imperative to defeat the enemy country's sinister game-plan. It is these elements or agents of Pakistan through whom Islamabad and its ISI operate to bleed India and disturb its socio-religious and political equilibrium. Hence, the first priority should be the identification of the enemies within, not a difficult task. They can be tracked down in no time provided New Delhi has the political will to track down them. |
