BJP expresses concern over Rajouri flash floods

Rajouri, Aug 23: Bhartiya Janata Party has expressed deep concern over the heavy damage of property due to flash floods in Rajouri. The party has also expressed grief over the accident of Budhal road and demanded ex-gratia relief to the next kin of the deceased at par with the accident victims of Kashmir Valley. In a press statement issued here, State Secretary of BJP, Advocate Vibodh Gupta said that due to heavy flash floods in Manjakote Nallah of Rajouri, huge damage of property has been caused. He said that thousands kanal of agriculture land, besides various Chakies have been washed away in flash floods. He also expressed deep concern over the damage caused due to entering of flash flood water into the residential houses of Rajouri causing huge loss to them. Gupta demanded immediate relief to the victims of the flash flood. He said that there is disastrous situation in Rajouri but no senior government functionary has still visited the area to access the situation. The party leader also expressed deep shock over the accident on Rajouri Budhal road which claimed 9 lives. Vibodh Gupta said that government has adopted double standard attitude to help the victims of accidents in Kashmir valley and Rajouri area of Jammu region. He said that in case of road mishap in Kashmir, Chief Minister himself visited the spot and handedover Rs one lakh ex-gratia relief but in Rajouri the situation is totally different. He said that Chief Minister even did not say a word for the sympathy of the victims neither released ex-gratia relief immediately as it is being done in Kashmir Valley. He said that even there is discrimination at this level also.
Demanding immediate relief at par with the accident victims of Kashmir Valley, Gupta said that state government must not adopt two policies for two areas of the state.
