| GHPS wins U-19 Tug of War title | | | early times report
JAMMU, Aug 23: Guru Harkrishan Public School (GHPS) emerged winner in inter-school girls' under-19 Tug of War competition of Jammu district held under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) here today.
In the title clash, GHPS defeated Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Mubarak Mandi in straight games.
In the semifinals, played today, GHPS beat Government Girls HSS Canal Road 2-0 while GGHSS Mubarak Mandi trounced St. Peter's Karan Bagh 2-0. Earlier, in a preliminary round match, GHSS Canal Road beat GGHSS R S Pura 2-0.
The competition was declared open by Principal of the GHPS, Col. Gian Singh Sudan at the school premises.
YOGA: Pooja bags gold
Meanwhile, in inter-school under-19 girls' yoga competition of Jammu district, Pooja of DBN School bagged gold while Sapna of SOS Gole Gujral and Shivalik of DBN School remained second and third respectively. Yoga competition held at MA Stadium, here. |
