| Inter-school meet of R S Pura, Miran Sahib zone | | GHSS RS Pura boys win kabaddi, kho-kho titles | | early times report
JAMMU, Aug 24: Host Government Boys Higher Secondary School, R S Pura made a clean sweep winning both kabaddi and kho-kho titles in the inter-school (boys and girls) under-19 competitions of R S Pura and Miran Sahib held under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) today. In kaba-ddi final, GHSS R S Pura defeated Government Higher Secondary School Dablehar by a margin of 11 points. Later, in kho-kho final, GHSS RS Pura boys trounced Government Higher Secondary School Miran Sahib by nine points.
However, the volleyball trophy went to Government Higher Secondary School Chakrohi, who beat GHSS R S Pura in straight sets. Meanwhile, in girls' category, again GHSS R S Pura bagged both kabaddi and kho-kho titles. In kabddi final, GHSS R S Pura girls beat Government Higher Secondary School Miran Sahib by nine points. In kho-kho final, GHSS R S Pura downed the opponent from GHSS Miran Sahib by a margin of three points. Matches were officiated by the penal of experts including Sushma Sharma, Suresh Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Govind Kumar, Parveen Kour, Nari-nder Kour, Swarnjeet Kour, Amolak Singh, Ravinder Singh and Pankaj Sharma. In the closing function, Principal of host GHSS Boys R S Pura, Neelam Kumari was special guest, who complimented the winners and encouraged others who lost in the finals.
