Approach transport authorities for affixing High Security Registration Plates: Transport Commissioner

SRINAGAR, Aug 24: The Transport Commissioner, Mr. Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo has asked all Contract Carriage, Taxi, Maxi Cab Operators to approach to the respective regional Transport /Assistant Regional Transport officers for affixing of High Security Registration Plates on their vehicles which will start from September 5, 2012. The affixing of High Security Registration Plates on all types of vehicles is mandatory under Central Motor Vehicles Act 1988 and by the orders of Supreme Court of India in this behalf. The operators can avail this facility for two weeks i.e. upto September 20, 2012, beyond which appropriate action under law will be taken against the defaulters.
