DyCM directs officers to ensure time bound completion of projects | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Aug 24: Taking serious note of slow progress in completion of some projects taken up under urban development sector, the Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand has elucidated upon the officers to speed up the pace of work and complete them in a time bound manner. He directed the officers to bring more efficiency in their functioning otherwise action against the officials responsible for delay would become imperative. Deputy Chief Minister was reviewing the progress of current financial year's working plan of Housing and Urban Development Departments of Jammu division at an officers meeting held here today. Principal Secretary Housing and Urban Development, Suresh Kumar, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Director, Urban Local Bodies, Jammu besides senior officers of Jammu Development Authority and Jammu Urban Development Agency were present on the occasion. The meeting was informed that JMC has earned revenue of Rs. 12.75 crore during last financial year which is likely to touch Rs. 15 crore this year. It was told that under Basic Service for Urban Poor, Rs. 8.09 crore stand expended for completion of 288 works out of Rs. 33 crore projected plan during last fiscal while the Corporation has collected Rs. 12.50 lakh as user charges from households and shopkeepers so far during current fiscal against the target of Rs. 70 lakh. |
