Taawish College celebrates Sadbhavna Divas | | | Jammu , Aug 24: The NSS Unit of Taawish college of Education today observed Sadbhavna Divas, in the college to commemorate the birth anniversary of late Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The programme began with NSS volunteers and staff taking the pledge that they would work for emotional oneness and harmony of the people of India regardless of caste, creed, religion or language and resolve all the differences through dialogue and constitutional means without resorting to violence. Pooja Malhotra, Chairperson of the college, while highlighting the importance and theme of the day, told the students that this day is celebrated as a day of goodwill towards everyone and eschewing violence. She emphasized that sources of conventional energy are minimal. Non- conventional energy needs to be promoted to meet the future energy demands and to give quality and pollution free supply to the growing need for energy. Dr. Raj Kumar, Principal of the college, said that Sadbhavana literally means "Good Feelings" or "Good will." The main theme of Sadbhavana is to promote good will, national integrity and communal harmony among the people of India irrespective of caste, creed and religion. |
