| 3 day long plantation drive held at GCW Gandhi Nagar | | | early times report
Jammu, Aug 24: The NSS Unit of the GCW Gandhi Nagar today started a three day long plantation drive. The drive began with planting of a sapling of medicinal plant by Dr. Vishav Raksha, NSS Programme Coordinator, University of Jammu. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Vishav Raksha encouraged the volunteers for participating in such a drive and stressed upon them to aware the masses about the importance of trees.
Principal of the college, Dr Kiran Bakshi also said that the plants are source of life and aesthetics also. The oxygen generated by the plants is the basic requirement of life and plants add to the beauty and ecology of the earth.
The drive is being organized under the supervision of NSS Programme Officers Prof. Hans Raj, Prof. Ajay Gupta and Prof. Rashi Gupta. |
