Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 25: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party president and MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia has criticised major coalition partner Congress for its double speak on important issues concerning common masses of Jammu and Kashmir state.
He said that Congress is trying to hoodwink the public opinion by holding protests on various issues including 73rd and 74th Amendment in Panchayati Raj Act, supporting Autonomy for J&K in the Cabinet Committee while opposing it in public.
Addressing a press conference here today, Mankotia lambasted Congress for its double speak on all the issues concerning the welfare of people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that a high level delegation of Pradesh Congress Committee led by its president Prof Saifuddin Soz met All India Congress president Sonia Gandhi and raised the issue of West Pakistan refugees while its own government and ministers in the state are mum on the recommendations of Wadhwa Committee report.
"The delegation nowhere mentioned the issue of 73rd & 74th amendment in the Panchayati Raj Act in a meeting of such significance," said Mankotia.
"The party is trying to mislead the people by holding protests and managing lathicharge through its own instruments to gain sympathy of the common masses while doing nothing practical for the well being of people," he added.
He asked the people of state to see through the evil designs of the Congress party which is responsible for all the sufferings of Jammu Pradesh and Kashmir region, rising prices, corruption and all the major scams in the country.
Mankotia urged its cadre to work hard to make August 27 protest programme against discrimination in sanctioning of posts of Lecturers in Higher Education department and delay in joining of teachers of respective districts.
