Sham conducts extensive tour of north Kashmir | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Aug 25: To get appraisal of the health scenario in the rural areas of north Kashmir, Minister for Health & Family Welfare Sham Lal Sharma today conducted an extensive tour of Sopore and Kreeri blocks of Baramulla district. MLA Sangrama Syed Basharat Bukhari, former MLA Shoib Lone, prominent Congress leader Muzaffar Ahmad Parray and heads of various departments also accompanied the Minister. During the tour the Minister inspected a number of health institutions and inaugurated staff quarters in these blocks. The institutions which were inspected included, PHC, Tarzoo, PHC, Sharkwara, PHC, Kachuaquam, PHC, Kalantra and SDH, Kreeri. Nine staff quarters constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 72. 37 lakh were inaugurated at Sharkwara and four number of doctors quarters constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 68 lakh were inaugurated at Kreeri. Interacting with the locals at Tarzoo the Minister explained the reason for delay of PHC building. He said the building was taken up under district plan and now the funds will be arranged from State sector and the building will be completed in a time bound manner. He assured that all necessary diagnostic facilities will be made available in the PHC which caters the huge catchment area. He issued instructions to the Director Health Services to take immediate steps to arrange money for the early completion of building. Regarding completion of Lift Irrigation Scheme in the area, the Minister assured that the matter will be taken up with the concerned ministry for removing the empediments. |
