| BJP holds membership drive | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 25: BJP Muthi-Paloura Mandal today organized programme at Muthi Chowk to enroll locals under Primary membership drive under the chairmanship of state Vice President and district Prabhari, Col (Retd) Uttam Singh. Function was presided over by the district President Akhnoor, Suraj Pada. More than two hundred youth including ladies and elders took primary membership on the occasion. While addressing the workers and newly enrolled members, Col.Uttam Singh said that people of Jammu district are facing hardships due to unscheduled power cuts, water scarcity, dilapidated condition of roads and unemployment. People are totally fed up due to Congress-NC coalition government in the sate. He said that people are looking towards BJP, resulting in a very good response of people during membership drive programme.
District president Suraj Pada questioned the justification of Congress party raising hue and cry and a drama over the implementation of 73rd and 74th amendment and charged that Congress party was never in favour of empowering of democratic institutions.
Prominent among the others who attended the function was former MLA and state Vice President Bali Bhagat, district vice president Joginder Singh Chib, General secretary and Sarpanch Sukhdev Singh, Ex-Corporator Omi Khajuria, Mandal president Hans Raj Manhas, Mukesh Kumar Sharma, Pt. Tirath Ram, Taramani Sharma and Narinder Singh. |
