The call to prospective candidates for contesting Assembly elections was made in a meeting of the Panthers Legislature Party held under the chairmanship of Chairman JKNPP, Prof Bhim Singh and attended by Leader of Panthers Legislature Party Harsh Dev Singh, MLAs Balwant Singh Mankotia and Yashpal Kundal besides MLC Syed Mohd Rafiq Shah. The meeting said that the government is functioning in utter violation of the mandate of the Constitution and the rule of law and therefore there is likelihood that the present government shall sink any day. Panthers Party Chairman appealed to the party activists who are eager to contest election to file their claims with the office of the district presidents on an appropriate form before October 1. The district presidents shall submit the application forms with the state president by October 15. In the meeting it was decided that the party shall contest all the 87 Assembly seats in the state, preference shall be given to the younger generation and no such person shall be given the mandate, who has any criminal record against his name. On the occasion, Prof Bhim Singh made an appeal to all those who had left the party earlier for one reason or the other to return to the party fold. |
