CJM Kishtwar extends police remand of 2 Hawala operators

KISHTWAR, Aug 25: Chief Judicial Magistrate Kishtwar Ashwani Sharma extended 15 days police remand of two alleged Hawala operators involved in transportation of Hawala money for Hizb supreme commander Jahangir Saroori.
Chatroo police today produced Tanveer Ahmed Genoo and his father Ghulam Qadir Genoo and demanded for extension of police custody of both the accused. Chatroo police pledge before the court that they will require the custody of both the accused since the investigation into transportation of Hawala money is still at its initial stage and custody of both accused is required for identification of more accused involved in supply of hawala money for militant organizations in Kishtwar district.
Tanveer was arrested along with Rs. 3 lac hawala money by Chatroo police from Chingham, when he was on his way to Kishtwar from Srinagar via Kishtwar-Sinthan-Srinagar road. Soon after the arrest of Tanveer, Chatroo police detains 5 people from Dachhan for questioning and finally booked Tanveer's father for his alleged role in helping out the HM supreme commander in terms of providing food, shelter, logistic support and supply of Hawala money.
According to police sources, Chatroo police is looking for the main accused who supplied the Rs 3 lakh Hawala money to accused Tanveer. The sources said that efforts are on to trace out the main accused for which the Chatroo police is in constant touch with its Kashmir counterpart. The sources said that more arrests are on cards in near future.
Meanwhile, in another case CJM Kishtwar extended the custody of HM militant Sajjad Ahmed Mir alias Rizwan by 4 days. He was today produced before CJM Kishtwar by Dachhan police and pledged for extension of police custody of the accused militant and accordingly CJM Kishtwar granted 4 days police remand of accused HM militant wanted by Kishtwar police in 12 FIR's including in some murder cases.
