KISHTWAR, Aug 26: After performing two days Havan and Pujja at Matta Chandi temple Machail, Chhari Mubarak left the temple premises for its back journey towards Gulabgarh Padder before it will reach Matta Chandi temple at Chenot Bhaderwah.
As per the details, 2.5 lakh pilgrims have so far offered Darshan at Machail temple during last 25 days and thus the Machail Yatra becomes the 3rd most popular Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir after Vaishno Devi and Amarnath Yatra. Even though the Yatris face inconvenience due to lack of facilities enroute to Machail temple, but still large number of Yatris feels satisfied after offering Darshan and Pooja at Machail Matta temple.
People of Kishtwar hoped that the government of Jammu and Kashmir will look into the demands of constituting Machail Matta Shrine Board on the pattern of Vaishno Devi and Amarnath Shrine Board. People feel that due to heavy inflow of pilgrims, the caretakers of Machail Yatra is in no position to make satisfactory arrangements for Yatris in case the government did not take over the control of the Yatra by constituting shrine board.
Meanwhile, several Yatris complained that some people charge them Rs. 500 per bed for one night and even provide them the food items at higher rates than the printed rates. One of the pilgrims complained that he paid Rs. 30 for one Parantha and Rs.25 for Maggi pack. Yatris hoped that the government will construct some dormitories at different locations enroute to temple so that the pilgrims visiting the shrine did not feel any problem of accommodation in future.
