| Huge cache recovered from militant hideout early times report | | | JAMMU, Aug 26 : Police and Security Forces claimed to have thwarted a terrorists plot to carry out terror strikes by effecting recovery of huge arms/ ammunition from the hideout of terrorists during a search operation in Sarnihal forest in the area of Khari falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Banihal of district Ramban here today.
Police on a tip off launched a search operation in Sarnihal forest in the area of Khari falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Banihal . A column 23 RR (Rashtriya Rifle) also jointed the operation. The suspected area was cordoned off and during search troops achieved success in locating the hideout of terrorists which was made by terrorists inside an abandoned place. The hideout of terrorists noticed by the troops was smashed and recoveries from it include ; two pistol foldable butt 7.63mm (Pak made) with 02 magazine , 02 pistols 7.62mm (Chinese made ) with 02 magazine , 05 rifle muzzle loaded , one rifle 12- Bore , one UBGL ,02 bino , one Bino cover , 06 magazine of AK 47, 57 rds. of Pika (belted) , 09 rds.of Pika (lase), 974 rds of AK 47 , 301 rds of 9 mm ball, 12 rds. of Pak pistol 7.62mm, one IED box , 02 battery IED , 316 fired cases , 80 cases Pika fired , one combat pouch , 02 blankets , 10 kg rice, one note of Pak currency of Rs. 10 /- only. |
