CB produces challans against misappropriation, cheating | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 27: Crime Branch (CB) Jammu have produced challans against three accused for misappropriation of and cheating in two different cases before the courts of CJM Kishtwar and CJM Kathua respectively today. A case FIR No.3/2010 was registered at Police Station Kishtwar on receipt of reliable information that CA&PD Storekeeper Patimhal, Kishtwar had illegally sold some CA&PD Sugar to unauthorized person Irshad Ahmed S/o Mohd. Akbar R/o Hatna, Palmar for his personal wrongful gain and in this way caused misappropriation of the Govt. ration meant for the general public. During the course of investigation vehicle containing 4 bags of sugar was seized from the possession of Irshad Ahmed S/o Mohd Akbar who was arrested on the spot. The case was transferred to Crime Branch, Jammu for further investigation where after obtaining all the relevant record from CA&PD Department Kishtwar as well as Ration Store Patimahal and examining the prosecution witnesses, the case was fully established against the above mentioned accused persons. Similarly, a case FIR No.02/2011 was registered in Crime Branch, Jammu on a complaint lodged by members of Taxation Bar Association, Kathua through their president Shashi Pal Sharma Advocate alleging therein that it had come to the notice of Taxation Bar Association, Kathua that one Tarsem Singh S/o Karan Singh R/o Barwal Distt Kathua had produced B.Com. Degree certificate bearing enrolment No.00267140 purportedly issued by Choudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut before Commissioner Commercial Taxes J&K Govt. Jammu for issuance of Sales Tax Practitioner Certificate and based on that he got the Practitioner Licence and subsequently the Commissioner Commercial Taxes on the request of Taxation Bar Association, Kathua got the Degree/Marks sheets verified from the concerned University and found that the same had not been issued by the said university. During the investigation of case, the Degree/Marks Sheets and certificate of authorization issued by Commissioner, Commercial Taxes, J&K, Jammu in favour of the accused were seized and the statements of witnesses u/s 161 Cr PC were also recorded. It was substantiated that accused Tarsem Singh had passed Higher Secondary Part-II from Govt. Higher Secondary School, Barwal Distt. Kathua. Thereafter, he managed to obtain fake Degree/Mark sheets of Part-I, II & III purportedly issued by Choudhary Charan Singh University Meerut and got himself enrolled as an 'Authorized Representative' to conduct the cases of commercial taxes. However, on the basis of oral as well as documentary evidence, it was fully established that the accused Tarsem Singh had procured and used as genuine the fake Degree/Marks sheets of B.Com Part-I, II & III. The above mentioned offences were fully established against accused persons, who have been challaned in the courts of law for judicial determination. Next date of hearing in these cases has been fixed on September 25 and September 20 respectively. |
