| Congress leaders angry over poor BSNL services | | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Kishtwar, Aug 27: Senior Congress leader and member PCC Mohammad Aslam Malik slammed poor services of BSNL in Kishtwar and Padder Tehsil of the District.
He said that BSNL authorities have failed improve its services in Kishtwar District despite availability of funds. He said that during his visit to Padder a few days ago, large number of people complained about poor BSNL services.
He said that similar problems were being faced by the people of Kishtwar District due to poor services of BSNL. According to him, a delegation of Congress members comprising Ashok Tickoo, Narinder Singh, Hari Chand, Prem Singh, Ravi Kumar, Omkar Singh, Shahid Hussain Khandey and local Sarpanches from Afani, and Gulabgarh called on Tehsildar Padder and appraised him about the problems faced by the people.
He said the Tehsildar expressed his inability to convince TDM Udhampur about improvement in poor BSNL services. The helpless Tehsildar informed them that he had intimated TDM Udhampur time and again about the problem but without success.
The poor services, he said caused inconvenience to over 2 lakh pilgrims who visited the Machail temple when he was around.
Congress party activists urged the TDM Udhampur to take appropriate action failing which they shall approach the higher authorities. Block President Congress Padder Nek Ram Manhas also expressed his concern over poor services of BSNL in Kishtwar and Padder.
Reports suggest that BSNL authorities allegedly help the private telecom operators to extend their base in Jammu and Kashmir by providing poor services. Notwithstanding BSNL's "Samadan" scheme to address the costumer's grievances on fast track bases, hundreds of complaints remain unaddressed.
There are reports the name of the repairs of optical cable; bills worth lakhs of rupees stand withdrawn by some local officials. BSNL costumers in Kishtwar demanded the shifting of local officer of BSNL posted here in Kishtwar since last over 2 decades and blamed him for mess in BSNL including poor services. |
