‘GoI's policies on Kashmir may lead to KPs extinction’ | KPs’ Delegation calls on Yoga Guru | | Early Times Report new delhi, Aug 27: Dejected over Government's continuous apathy towards them, the displaced Kashmiri Pandits have approached the Yoga Guru Baba Ram Dev seeking his support in their struggle for restoration of their homeland in Valley. A delegation of prominent KPs leading an exiled life in Union Capital and other parts of the country called on Baba Ram Dev at his Patanjali Ashram near Hardwar and took up the issue with him. They informed him about the plight of the exiled Hindus from the Valley who as a community are facing anextinction due to the wrong policies of Central Government. The delegation, which was led by Kashmir Pandit Conference (KPC) chief Kundan Kashmiri and accompanied by his senior vice President ML Raina and Dr Saraf informed Baba Ram Dev that further delay in solving the Pandits issue will be inimical to national interests in the long run. The delegation informed the Yoga Guru that Kashmiri Pandits are the worst sufferers of the turmoil and the Union Government has failed to frame a concrete policy for their welfare and rehabilitation in their homeland in Kashmir Valley. The KPs while seeking the support of Baba Ram Dev said that they have been stared in the face by the Government which failed to take the cognizance of their plight to appease the separatists in the Valley for the vote bank politics. The delegation urged the Yoga Guru to raise the issue of exiled Pandits who have been hounded out from the Valley by terrorists backed by Pakistan and support the struggle of exiled Pandits for restoration of their homeland at each and every fora at national level. The delegation informed him that the Pandits had a 5000 year old rich Hindu culture and this ancient culture of the country is facing a threat in case steps are not taken by the civil society of India to protect it by supporting the cause of exiled Pandits. The delegation said that the Pandits who are scattered all over the country are not in a position to live together as a community and there was no concrete policy with the Government of India for their rehabilitation. The delegation alleged that the youth who is most sufferer is in distress as Government has no proper policy for their betterment. The community is unheard and prevailing Central Government policies towards the community will lead to its extinction within one or two decades if corrective steps were not taken, the delegation added. The delegation urged the Yoga Guru to exert pressure on Union as well as State Governments to rehabilitate the exiled Pandits as a community at a consolidated place in Valley so that they will not face future exodus. The delegation also assured full support to Baba Ram Dev in his struggle for bringing back the India black money deposited in foreign countries. |
