NCSU holds protest against DDE's admission process | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 28: National Conference Students Union (NCSU) today held a protest against the failure of the Jammu University to streamline the admission process in Directorate of Distance Education (DDE). The activists of the NCSU today surrounded the office of Director of Directorate of Distance Education. At the time of protest Director was absent from the office on which the NCSU activists alleged that most of the time he remains absent and fails to regularly attend his office. NCSU criticized the employees of the Distance Education alleging that they are not performing their duties honestly due to the negligence of the Director. The activists also raised slogans against the authorities warning them to come clean on certain issues pertaining to the students. Addressing the protestors, Rakesh Chib, Provincial President, NCSU, criticized the working of the department relating to the failure of the online admission process in which the students have to submit their forms online as well as manually later on to ensure their admission to the department. Chib also stressed that while indulging in this admission process the students have to submit their fees twice which burdens the students with extra charges. The students first have to download the online admission form, submit it online and then again have to submit it manually which makes no sense. He threatened the administration to fulfill these demands within three days otherwise strong agitation will be held against the Director Distance Education. |
