AMPGA opposes setting up industries at Ghati | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 28: Opposing the move to set up industrial units in Ghati forest belt of Kathua district, Aromatic and Medicinal Plants Growers Association today asked the Centre and state government to use the acquired land in the region to establish a national botanical garden. "We appeal to the Centre and state government to review the decision to set up most polluted industries at Ghati as it would damage aromatic and medicinal plants and have an adverse impact on human beings and crops of the entire region," state president of AMPGAI Satpal Sharma told reporters here. "To preserve the natural heritage of the region, we would request the concerned authorities to use the land at Ghati to establish national botanical garden," he said. |
