EPTWS resolves to fight 'highhandedness of Custodian Deptt' | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 28: Alleging that Custodian Department is using pressure tactics, the EP Tenants Welfare Society (EPTWS) resolved today to fight the highhandedness of Custodian Department and not to tolerate it anymore. In a meeting of the office bearers of EPTWS, its president Inder Mohinder Tar Singh strongly condemned the notice no. DIP/J-3556 dt 24/08/12 issued by the Custodian Evacuees Property Jammu wherein it is mentioned, "Since the rainy season has set in there is every apprehension that dilapidated EP houses may collapse which endangers human life. Therefore the tenants and allottees of EP Houses /B.Cs/Kholas shops etc. are asked to vacate such premises for the time being and handover the possession to the department in order to avoid any mishap, otherwise they shall be themselves responsible for consequences." Tar Singh stated that the order is reflection of high handedness of the Department and the Revenue Minister, Raman Bhalla, is party to it. As we have repeatedly requested all the concerned ones from time to time by drawing their attention towards the fact that many houses are in dilapidated condition which may collapse any time even before the rainy season, we had informed the department well in time to repair these houses but department has paid no heed to this. Former Custodian General has promised us many times that the department shall repair these houses but he too has deceived the helpless, poor tenants who are not in a position to repair these houses on their own. He too has made fool of tenants and made mockery as we met him more than 10 times and he always assured to get the depilated house repaired. Tar said on one hand PCC chief Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz and Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla, stated that they have apprised their central leadership especially Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA Chair person Sonia Gandhi and Union Home Minister Sushil Shinde who in return have assured the ownership rights to the EP tenants and on the other hand the department is asking tenants to vacate these houses. |
