Teachers, politicians, religious preachers have a greater role in development of society: Mir

KHAIPORA(TANGMARG), Aug 28: Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir Today said that teachers, politicians and religious preachers have a greater role in the development of society.
The Minister said this while addressing a huge public gathering here this afternoon. He said that the teachers shape our future generation while politicians serve as leaders of the nation and religious preachers play their role in development of moral values in the society. He said that those nations where these three components deliver their responsibilities sincerely are marching towards progress & prosperity. He called upon all the stake holders of the state to work together in right earnest for the betterment of society.
Mir said that our society has dire need of the good teachers, politicians and religious leaders who work for the growth of the society. He said that the J&K possess a huge talent in three classes and the time has come that all of them have to put their efforts to make the J&K model state of the country.
Referring to economic independence, the Minister said political independence is meaningless without economic independence adding that that "we can't live a dignified life without achieving self reliance in economic affairs".
He said that we have to work hard to tap all the resources judiciously as nature has gifted us with abundant resources and talented human resources.
Saying that time has no mercy, Mr. Mir said that we have wasted the time on emotional slogans, speeches during last 66 years which has marred our peace, progress and prosperity and called upon the younger generation to come out of this muddle and begin with a new life where only peace, progress and prosperity shall prevail. He said that "how much time we remain dependent on others mercy".
The Minister said "I want to show the youth the path of peace, prosperity, development and KHUSHALI, not the path of destruction". Lambasting on the violence mongers who only give the valley death and destruction during two decades of long turmoil and questioned them what they have achieved out of this. He asked them to forget the past and contribute in J&K's peace and development.
Responding about the development of the area, the Minister said that the work on road communication and irrigation projects of a cost of Rs 123cr. are in full progress and assured the ambitious projects could be completed within the prescribed time to benefit the people at the earliest. He assured that within the five years time every helmet of the constituency would have filtered drinking water facility. Regarding other demands, he assured that these would be redressed at the earliest.
