NC led regime has legalized corruption in J&K: Beigh | | | Early Times Report Budgam, Aug 28: Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior leader of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Muzaffar Hussain Beigh today said that corruption has been legitimized in Jammu and Kashmir as the state government headed by National Conference has failed to take any step to curb the menace of corruption. He said that during the last three and half years corruption has crossed all limits and from top to bottom there is rampant corruption. Beigh said that National Conference-Congress was formed without programme and policies as enjoying power was the only aim of the National Conference. He said that present coalition was formed without common minimum programme. The former Deputy Chief Minister reminded that in the year 2002, it took more than 20 days for the PDP and Congress to enter into an alliance to form the government. "We entered into alliance with Congress only after formation of CMP so that aspirations of all sections of the society to be addressed", former deputy chief minister said. Speaking on the occasion Former Finance Minister Tariq Hamid Karra said that mysterious killing of National Conference worker Haji Yosuf was a glaring example of crime-corruption nexus in the State. He said that almost one year has been passed but no action has been taken in that sensational killing. Former Finance Minister Karra said that National Conference was synonymous of corruption because whenever this party comes to party it always encouraged corruption and nepotism in the state. He reminded that period of 1996 to 2002 was a period of corruption in the state but the three and half year of tenure of the present regime has virtually broken record of the previous National Conference as far as corruption is concerned. |
