Rather cautions people against enemies of peace, development | | | early times report SRINAGAR, Aug 28: The Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather today reiterated Government's resolve to provide all the basic facilities to the people living in remote and backward areas at par with cities and towns adding that determined efforts are being made to develop a welfare state where everyone gets justice and equal opportunities of developmental and prosperity. Addressing a public gathering at Hangoo, a remote and isolated village in Tehsil Chadoora today, the Minister said equitable development of all the three regions of the State irrespective of political considerations is an important component of Government's policy and planning frame work. Rather said a massive developmental programme for expanding road connectivity has been under-taken in nook and corner of the State under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, adding that the J&K is leading towards a golden era of development and far reaching socio-economic revolution. Responding to the demands of the people, Rather announced to launch the 2nd phase of Muqam-Hangoo road project within in a week at a cost of Rs. 2.37 crore. He said Rs. 3.12 crore has already been incurred on the road project in the 1st phase under PMGSY. He also announced to extend Muqam-Hangoo road upto Dana Patti at a cost of Rs. 0.70 lakhs. Rather also announced up-gradation of Government Primary School, Hangoo upto Middle School level, besides, opening a government ration depot at Dembal. |
