PYC organises Panchayat conference at Anantnag

SRINAGAR, Aug 28: In order to strengthen the ongoing Pradesh Youth Congress' (PYC) struggle for the implementation of 73rd and 74th amendment, Pradesh Youth Congress organised one day Panchayat conference at Town Hall, Anantnag.
National President of Indian Youth Congress (IYC) and MLA, Rajiv Satav was the chief guest who especially came to address the elected Youth Congress panches and sarpanches.
A large number of Panches and Sarpanches who are the member of youth congress participated in the day long proceedings.
While speaking on the occasion, Rajiv Satav revealed that the Indian Youth Congress stands for the complete implementation of 73rd and 74th amendments. The only way to development, peace and prosperity is to empower the Panchyats, he added.
He said that youth can bring the revolution in the degrading and corrupt system. He appealed the youth of the state to join politics and especially youth congress to serve the country in a better way.
He further said that said that the fact remains that the J&K Panchayati Raj Act is not in line with the Act as in force in other states.
Chetan Chouhan Secretary and Incharge IYC highlighted the problems being faced by the Panches and Sarpanches.
The PYC leaders speaking on the occasion declared their absolute support to the implementation of 73rd amendment in the state and complete overhauling of the Panchayati raj system. They urged the government that powers be decentralized at the grass root level.
The PYC leaders who addressed the gathering include Shahnawaz Choudhary, President PYC, Dr Rashid Choudhary State General Secretaryand Incharge Anantnag Lok Sabha, Pranav Shagotra State Vice President, R S Pathania State General Secretary, Manjit Singh Jatt State General Secretary, Abid Kashmiri, State General Secretary, Afroza Ahhter State General Secretary and Nasir Ahmed Mir, President Anantnag Lok Sabha.
