NSF protests JU's failure to act against private colleges | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Aug 29: National Secular Forum (NSF) today staged a protest against the failure of Jammu University authorities to take action against the private colleges violating the norms with impunity. Carrying placards and banners highlighting their demands, a large number of NSF activists led by senior vice-president of forum, Surjit Choudhary assembled near Fountain Plaza on University Campus. Protestors were raising slogans against the Vice-Chancellor, Jammu University Prof Mohan Pal Singh Ishar for failing to take action against the private colleges which violated the university statutes, despite the fact he was aware about the violations. Speaking on occasion Surjit alleged that it is a now open secret that private colleges were running ETT institutions and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) centers in the same premise where B.Ed course is being run without the permission of the varsity. The NSF leader added that it raised many doubts in the minds of the people and the Vice-Chancellor should make it clear as to why he didn't take action and remained silent on the whole issue. Ravi Choudhary, Sukdev Singh, Balveer Kumar, PP Singh,Sunil Kumar, Puspinder Singh, Naresh, Reshikesh Rana, N.Sangotra, Vikram Madyal, and others also addressed the protests during today's protest. |
