JKDF rues discrimination against Jammu, refutes claims of equitable development

early times report
Jammu, Aug 29 : Although there are tall claims by the Government regarding the equal representation to all the three regions of the State, But people of Jammu are still being made the victim of discrimination and Kashmiris are still dominant.
This has surfaced in the recent advertisement by JKPSC regarding filling up the posts of lecturers in Jammu and Kashmir Divisions. Out of total 1129 posts, 700 posts are advertised for Kashmir Division and 429 posts for Jammu Division.
Munish Khajuria, District President JKDF,Youth Wing Jammu in a Press Conference jointly held with Kapil Shastri a research Scholar in Department of Sanskrit, University of Jammu has questioned the policy of the government of allocating more posts for Kashmir.
Whether there is the issue of Selection lists prepared by different recruiting agencies or JKPSC, Jammu is being repeatedly Discriminated, Whereas the Kashmir is always having upper hand. Take the issue of Central University which was originally sanctioned by the Centre for Jammu but it has begun to function at Srinagar for about two years now, In case of Jammu even the issue of appointment of the Vice Chancellor is being deliberately blown out of proportions but with a design to scuttle the establishment of the institution which could be of a great use for the people of this region.
"We are being struggling for last 4 months for unemployment allowance of merely Rs. 2000/- P.M to educated youth of State till they get jobs, But instead of giving relief to educated and unemployed youth of the State, fresh salt has been added to their wounds. JKDF has taken a serious note of all these recent developments" Khajuria said. "We warn this Government that youth of Jammu will not tolerate the exploitation anymore, but resort to more vigorous agitation over the issue. Government must revoke the recently published notification regarding posts of lecturers and instead issue a fresh notification having equal distribution of posts among Jammu and Kashmir Divisions" he added.
