Drugs & Food Control organization books 25 vendors | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 29 : A team comprising Food Safety Officers of Drugs & Food Control Organization, J&K carried out a special drive to review compliance of Section 6 of cigarette and other tobacco products (Prohibition of advertisement and regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003. During the drive, 25 Vendors have been found indulging in sale of tobacco products like khaini and Gutka around educational institutions in the area of Satwari, Kachi Chowni, Exchange Road and Chowk Chabutra who were fined Rs.3400. The Controller, Drugs & Food Control Organization has appealed to all the vendors indulging in sale of Cigarettes or other tobacco products not to sell these products to a person below the age of eighteen years and in an area within a radius of 100 yards of any educational institutions. |
