| MEU seeks early DPC meeting | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 30: The Municipal Employees Union (MEU)-Ministerial of Jammu Municipal Corporation urged the Municipal administration to hold D.P.C meeting of all cadres on a re-fixed date and schedule as the earlier D.P.C meeting was postponed, due to delay of D.P.C meeting JMC employees suffer a lot even some employees retired without getting their due promotion. The President of the Union, Rohit George strongly demanded for disposal and appointment of long pending cases of family members of deceased employees under SRO-43 on compassionate grounds.The family members of deceased employees are suffering financial hardships in these crucial days of price hiking. The Srinagar Municipal Corporation is still appointing the family members of deceased employees on compassionate ground but Jammu Municipal Corporation administration is not implementing the same on the plea that they don't have powers to appoint the same. It is strange that in one state the government is adopting two yard sticks one for Jammu region and other for Kashmir region. This shows the step motherly behavior of Govt. with Jammu region.
The Union demanded and urged Dy Chief Minister to give powers to JMC Commissioner on the analogy of SMC to settle the long pending cases of SRO-43 as this has been also assured to the Union during his recent visit at Town Hall, Jammu. |
