Scrap dealers violating pollution norms | | | Early Times Report Kathua, Aug 30 : 42 scrap dealers of the town are still violating the norms of PCB and causing threat of the major incidence to the public life at kathua. After the passing of seven months for issuing a notice by the Pollution Control Board to Scrap dealers for No Objection Certificate to run their scrap shop further but not even a single Scarp holder shopkeeper arrived to the PCB office to apply for NOC at kathua. The PCB field officers Brij Lal and Davinder said that this was the first notice which could not get any response from the scrap holder shopkeepers and second notice is ready if it will also be not answered then the PCB will bring the final notice to close the shops of all scrap holder Shopkeepers in kathua. It is the norm to run the scrap holding shop to get no objection certificate from the PCB and it is mandatory to renew after fixed time period. In this connection PCB had bring the notice to 42 Kawariawalas ( Scrap dealers) for NOC on Feb 2012 but no Kawariawalas took it seriously and violated the norms of PCB which would never be tolerated said by the PCB. It is also seen that the Kawariawalas are running their shops without adopting PCB norms and collected unwanted and causing health hazards material in their godowns in open public places. It is also major threats to the safety of people because nearby areas are residential and full chances of catching fire to cause a major incident are prevailing there. In this connection PCB and district administration both are seemed not serious due to which public life may get worsly affected any time. |
