Kishtwar police send HM hawala operators to JIC, Jammu

KISHTWAR, Aug 30: Kishtwar police today sent two alleged Hizb hawala operators to Joint Interrogation Center (JIC), Jammu for further interrogation to ascertain more clues regarding working of HM hawala network in Jammu and Kashmir including Kishtwar district.
The two hawala operators identified as Tanveer Ahmed Genoo and his father Ghulam Qadir Genoo.
Tanveer was arrested by Chatroo police from Chingham along with Rs 3 lakh hawala money on the bases of input given by Intelligence Bureau (IB) when he was on his way to Kishtwar from Srinagar via Kishtwar-Sinthan-Srinagar road.
Soon after the arrest of Tanveer, Chatroo police detained 5 more people from Dachhan for questioning and finally booked Tanveer's father for his alleged role in helping out the HM Supreme Commander Mohammad Amin Butt alias Jahingir Saroori in terms of providing food, shelter, logistic support and supply of hawala money to him.
According to sources both father and son gives conflicting statement over the person who provided money to them for HM Supreme Commander.
The sources said that Kishtwar police is looking for a main accuse in Kashmir who used to provide money to accuse Tanveer Ahmed Genoo from time to time for HM militants operating in different parts of Kishtwar district. The sources further said that Kishtwar police is in constant touch with Kashmir police in connection with functioning of hawala operators in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Both Tanveer Ahmed Genoo and his father Ghulam Qadir Genoo are presently on 15 days police remand given by Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kishtwar on August 25.
Kishtwar police is hopeful that team of JIC Jammu will get success in extracting the vital information from the accused which ultimately help them in busting the hawala money gang functional in Kishtwar district with the help of the mentors from Kashmir valley.
