| One detained under PSA in Samba | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 30: District Magistrate Samba today issued orders for detention of one Mohd Iqbal alias Iqbal, under Public Safety Act (PSA) on the recommendations of Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba for his repeated indulgence in the cases of thefts and smuggling of bovine animals in the District. Police spokesperson said Mohd Iqbal @ Iqbal, (Gujjar) s/o Noor Ali of Madhera, Near Railway Bridge Basanter, Tehsil & District Samba has been booked under Public Safety Act 1978 for his repeated indulgence in the cases of thefts and smuggling of bovine animals in the District.
Earlier the SSP Samba had forwarded the dossier of the person and details of the FIRs registered against him from time to time regarding his involvement in the smuggling of bovine animals and strongly recommended for issuance of detention order under PSA.
The accused was involved in the commission of offence u/s 380/295-A/34 RPC for which a Case FIR No. 158/2010 was registered at P/S Samba and later was challaned in the court of law on 27.11.2010 and the charge was framed on 24.07.2012. he however was also found involved in theft of bovine animals on 24.05.2012 and a case FIR No. 40/2012 u/s 379 RPC stands registered at PS Ghagwal. The accused was also wanted in a theft of bovine for which a case stands registered against FIR No.70/2012 u/s 379 RPC at PS Ghagwal, police said. |
