SHO Geelani, others to face music; Court directs SSP to take action | | | ET Report JAMMU, Aug 30: In a complaint filed by Nawdeep Sharma r/o Sainik Colony Jammu, the Special Municipal Mobile Magistrate Jammu has directed the SSP Jammu to register FIR against the SHO P/S Trikuta Nagar Sameer Jeelani and four PSOs for using unparliamentarily language and misbehaving with the a common man. After hearing Adv JP Nanda appearing for the petitioner, Special Municipal Mobile Magistrate Jammu V S Bhou, perused the allegations which are serious in nature and pointed against responsible police officer and police officials. Court observed that though a thorough investigation into allegations is warranted and thus the complaint has been forwarded the complainant to SSP Jammu to register FIR against the accused because cognizable case is made out against them and investigate the matter expeditiously under law. "Periodical reports of investigation be communicated to this Court by SSP Jammu and first action taken report by filed on September 12, 2012, court said. The court direction has been passed in a complaint filed u/s 323, 341, 343, 379, 149, 163, 120-B, 326, 504, 506 RPC against Sameer Jeelani and other four accused PSOs. As per complaint it has been submitted on August 21 at about 12:30 PM while complainant withdrawing money from the PNB ATM at Bahu Plaza Jammu along with his cousin was called by SHO who later started using abusive and unparliamentarily language and also started misbehaving with the complainant when the complainant objected to it. "The SHO P/S Trikuta Nagar also had roughed up the complainant without any reason. In the meanwhile the PSOs of the said SHO and the constables also joined and started beating and thrashing the complainant mercilessly resulting the swelling on the checks and temple and the eardrum of ear is damaged, complainant said adding, " later police took the complainant police station, where the SHO and other police officials including one Sub-Inspector started the thrashing and beating the complainant mercilessly. It is further submitted that during the period of detention that the complainant was threatened by all the police officials not to utter a single word about the whole episode and if at all he choose to disclose the same to any one, he will be implicated in some and frivolous cases and even he will be eliminated. The complainant was later taken to Govt Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu for treatment where the MLC case was registered. |
