Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Aug 30: Independent MLA, Engineer Rashid has sharply reacted to the recent incident at JAKLI Headquarters at Rangreth, during which senior Cabinet Minister RS Chib, DGP Ashok Prasad and other senior dignitaries of State were humiliated and not allowed to enter the premises of the said headquarters on occasion of Reunion Day.
Chib, Prasad and others had gone to attend a function at the invitation of the JAKLI which had organized the function, also attended by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Early Times had exclusively reported the shabby treatment meted out to the state VVIPs.
"There can be nothing worse and humiliating than the fact that the entry gate leading to the function was closed for the dignitaries including Chib and Prasad and they were forced to leave the spot without attending the function" Er Rashid observed is a statement today. He said the incident had proved army did not show respect even towards the Cabinet Ministers and DGP of the State.
He said that incident had shaken common masses and added to their security concerns. "The incident should be an eye- opener for the top brass in Police who demoted their own top subordinate few days back at Bandipora just to please the army for revealing the bitter truth", Er Rashid said. He expressed surprise at to that why Chief Minister Omar Abdullah did not come out of the function while his Cabinet colleague and the DGP were being humiliated and insulted and forced to leave the spot without attending the function.
"By ignoring the incident Omar Abdullah and RS Chib cannot hide their helplessness ....and their silence over the issue has once again proved that the current leadership has developed the slavery mindset and prefers to keep mum over the issues which may often hurt their conscience because they want to enjoy power at all costs", MLA observed.
