| 7 years RI in murder case of 70 yrs old man | | | Jammu, Aug 31 (JNF) : Additional Sessions Judge Udhampur MK Sharma today awarded seven years rigorous imprisonment to Rakesh Kumar S/O Shankar Dass R/O Mohra Seda Village Sera Tehsil Chenani who committed the murder of a seventy yrs old man. According to the police case that accused has been married at Mohra Pundal village Latti Tehsil Ramnagar.
On 20.02.2009 the accused along with his father in law Duni Chand had gone to village Latti to buy chickens.
On return the accused went to the house of deceased Dhani Ram and Duni Chand father in law of the accused came back home. The accused and the deceased Dhani Ram had some alteration regarding character of wife of the accused.
The accused asked the deceased to accompany him to the house of his in-laws. At about 4 PM near the house of Duni Chand the accused got infuriated and with an intention to kill pushed the deceased down from the roof top of the house of Duni Chand and thereafter beat the deceased with kicks and blows causing serious injuries resulting in death of the deceased Dhani Ram.
Additional Sessions Judge Udhampur MK Sharma after hearing APP Tariq Mujahid appearing for the state and Adv Ajay Bandral appearing for the accused observed that this is a case where the convict has killed an old man of 70 years.
In the facts and circumstance in which the crime has been committed it shall be unjust to let off the convict with detention undergone as sentence.
The convict is sentence to rigorous imprisonment for seven years and a fine of Rs. 1000/-, in default whereof, the convict shall undergo a further simple imprisonment for a period of two months. All the sentences shall run concurrently. |
