Interlocutors' recommendations are Kashmir centric: Prof Chaman
8/31/2012 10:28:27 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 31: Raising eyebrows over the activities of the interlocutors even after submission of their report, the former Union Minister and MLA, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has observed that "These Wisemen" seem to be bent upon getting the settled issues unsettled and carry forward the mission of their friend Ghulam Nabi Fai, an ISI agent, who was active in USA and other countries on the so called Kashmir issue.
Prof Gupta said that the recommendations of these 'wisemen' are not only Kashmir centric but also highly controversial to appease the secessionists and semi secessionists.
Their most obnoxious move is to suggest the making the Article-370 a permanent feature which was included in the Indian Constitution as a temporary provision but still existed in the statue book even after the expiry of over six decades.
Castigating Article 370 as a thorn in the unity of the country and national interests, Prof. Gupta stressed the need for abrogation of this provision and advocated for free flow of the Indian Constitution to this part of the Country. Prof Gupta regretted that New Delhi, especially the Congress leadership have not learnt any lesson from their follies of the past and continue to fiddle with the problems in Kashmir, which of course are their own creation.
He question that if the Indian Constitution can be good for 125 Crore of the Indians, how it can be harmful for a handful people of this State. He warned serious repercussions if the policies of appeasement and yielding to secessionistic designs infected by the virus of Two Nations Theory of Jinnah and are not snubbed with a heavy hand. Prof. Gupta expressed surprise that these " Wisemen" did not afford any solution to the real problems of regional discrimination as also these of refugees and permanent settlement of the migrants.
