Agenda comes during meeting by mutual consent , says Prof Soz | Coordination Committee meeting today | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 31: The Chairman of the Coordination Committee of ruling alliance partners National Conference and Congress, Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz ruled out any pre decided agenda for the meeting which is scheduled in the summer capital tomorrow. The meeting is being held after over a month and will be attended by the members of both the parties. "We devise the agenda there and then only and it is always by mutual consent that issues are taken up for discussion by the members…..we never go with any fixed or pre decided agenda ….", Prof Soz said while speaking to ET. Anything that is circulated ahead of the meeting is speculative …..the veteran Congress leader said adding that none of the coalition partner members knows ahead of the meeting what issues are going to be taken up by either of the party. However, the chairman of the Coordination Committee said in the backdrop of the Government's commitment and Chief Minister's assertion on Thursday that it intends to conducting the elections by December , the issue of holding elections to Local Bodies and Block Development Councils may come up for discussion in tomorrow's meeting. " If it comes up Congress will put forth its view point over the issue…..Prof Soz said adding ' Congress is for holding these polls as early as possible , so we will express our views on these lines besides discussing other aspects related to polls. J&K Pradesh Congress Committee president and MP , Prof Soz said there are other issues related to functioning of the Government which are pending for some time and will certainly come up on priority in tomorrow's meeting. These are filling of vacancies in Public Service Commission, which he said is most vital besides Backward classes Commission where posts are vacant and needed to be filled by mutual consent of the NC as well as Congress. While Prof Saif-ud-din Soz is the chairperson of the Coordination Committee, the other members from Congress include Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, former Deputy Chief Minister and senior leader Pandit Mangat Ram Sharma, while the NC members include Finance Minister, Abdul Rahim Rather, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Ali Mohammad Sagar and MLA Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan. |
