| 500 kgs of polythene bags seized in Kathua | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Sept 1: Five hundreds killograms plastic bags (Polythene bag) were seized from a truck bearing number JK01 M 7231 during a joint operation launched by Pollution Control Board (PCB) and Excise Department, at Lakhanpur here today. Official spokesperson said that the truck on its way from Delhi to Anantnag (Kashmir) was carrying five quitals of plastic bags which are banned to use in the JK state in order to make the state plastic free. "Rs 4000 has been slapped as fine to violate the norms of PCB to the truck driver, statement said. The field officers of PCB Brij Lal and Davinder Singh jointly stated that the catch was made during on going drive to check the entry of the plastic bags into the JK State, as per the direction state's PCB. |
