| CS chairs high level meeting | | Reviews progress of 4-laning of NHW | | Jammu, February 07 In order to take stock of four laning of National High Way from Lakhanpur to Srinagar, a high level meeting was held here today under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Mr. C. Phunsog. The meeting was attended by the chairman National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) Mr. Pardeep Kumar, Secretary Road Transport and Highways (RT&H), Mr. Vijay Singh, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Mr. Pramod Jain, Secretary Forests Mr. Atal Dulloo, Secretary Revenue Mr.Masood Samoon, Secretary R&B Mr. Shalinder Kumar, Chief General Manager NHAI, Mr. A.K. Bajaj and a team of Engineers and technocrats from (NHAI) and (RT&H). It was decided in the meeting that Chief General Manager NHAI shall send a draft document to be used as certification for Srinagar by-pass national highway. It was decided that Financial Commissioner Revenue shall issue notification under section 6 and 7 of Land Acquisition Act to acquire land from Lakhanpr to Jammu, Udhampur to Chenani and from Qazi Gund to Srinagar. Divisional Forest Officers Ramban, Pulwama, Budgam, Anantnag and Bijbihara were also directed to get involved actively in the project clearing forest related issues early. Nodal Officer Ramban has been asked to prepare papers of all the land to be acquired for four laning of highway within one month. Power Development Department (PDD) was directed to provide in principle required power to NHAI to dig various tunnels. Chief Secretary directed the concerned agencies to speed up work of four laning keeping in view the futuristic requirement. He said large perspective be kept in mind while constructing the high way especially the bridges and culverts. He asked the NHAI to work round the clock at Vijaypur-Kunjwani stretch as people of the area are facing more problems. To expedite the work from Udhampur to Srinagar Mr. Phunsog directed NHAI and RT&H to convene a meeting with all field officers including Forests and Revenue department. |
